Criteria for Cover Story – “Attorney of the Month” or “Law Firm of the Month”
To be considered for the cover story, an attorney and/or law firm must have excellent reputations and possess qualities that distinguish themselves within San Diego County’s legal community. We are looking for interesting story angles. We are not interested in meeting attorneys and/or firms who think they can “buy” their way onto the cover.

Other Types of Feature Profiles We Present Include:

Boutique Law Firm of the Month
Each month Attorney Journal will strive to feature a law firm with an outstanding reputation.

Solo Practitioner of the Month
Feature story of an attorney in business by themselves.

Rising Star of the Month
Feature story on an attorney who has been practicing for less than five years. Does not need to be a partner or owner at their firm to qualify.

Expert Witness Profile
Feature story on expert witnesses in a variety of fields.

Professional Arbitrator/Mediator of the Month
Feature story profiling well-respected local mediation professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS: The following criteria “must” be met for feature consideration:

  • Practice within San Diego County
  • Partner, owner, or other significant position within their firm
  • Member of the State Bar Association

THERE IS NO FEE OR ADVERTISING REQUIRED FROM THE ATTORNEYS AND/OR LAW FIRMS WE CHOOSE FOR ATTORNEY JOURNAL’S  STANDARD 1-PAGE INSIDE FEATURE PROFILES. HOWEVER, IN MOST CASES, A $350.00 WRITER FEE WILL BE CHARGED TO MAKE SURE THE SUBJECT HAS SOME “SKIN-IN-THE-GAME” AND IS COMMITTED TO HONORING SCHEDULED PHOTO SHOOT DATE AND WRITER INTERVIEW.

The following criteria and areas of achievement will be used in the evaluation and selection process for all features:

  • Story angle
  • Professional achievements
  • Commitment and involvement within the local legal community
